Student Life at West London
Our West London campus is located in what is widely regarded as being one of the most desirable places in London to live. Ealing and Brentford combine a vibrant, cosmopolitan atmosphere with spacious parks and relaxed cafe culture. The area is safe, beautiful, multicultural and close to both London Heathrow Airport and the very centre of the city of London. The Ealing site of their West London campus has just undergone a £50 million transformation. It now features state-of-the-art student facilities including a refurbished Students’ Union, music studios, an auditorium, the Paul Hamlyn library, restaurants and cafes, and much more. People come from miles around to sample Reading's shopping and nightlife. With the University of Reading in the same town, there is plenty of entertainment aimed at students and lots to do.
There is a free bus available to all students which connect the two sites, Ealing and Brentford, just 10 minutes apart. The Berkshire Institute for Health, situated in Reading, is in walking distance of the main railway and bus stations, adjacent to car parking and within easy reach of the town's 'park and ride' bus stops. You can get to London Paddington by train in less than 30 minutes and the campuses are close to London Heathrow Airport.
The Music Industry Management Society (MIMS) produces educational events for students to gain both industry insight and access to resources that will empower them to provide tomorrow's solutions in response to today's need for crisis management. MIMS will present panel discussions, an end-of-the-year conference, music movie night conversations, and a series of music master classes where industry experts will come in to speak about a variety of topics.
Jace Dance Society, run by Jenny Trapp and Grace Thorne, is aimed at all students of all abilities to come along and enjoy themselves. Classes will consist of styles such as Jazz, Contemporary and Commercial etc. and will run one night a week on the University of West London campus in the North Building. Alongside the dance class, on another night, a fitness class will be aimed also to anyone who wants to keep fit.
The UNICEF society is such an amazing opportunity for students to get involved with to help children in danger around the world. Helping people especially children that don’t get resources they ever needed is such a big self-reward but would also stand out on your CV, and in the meantime you will contribute to the better life of others. This society is very exciting and rewarding, with different ideal activities and events that will take place it aims to be very entertaining but also very educative to every students involved.
Have you always wanted to try skiing or snowboarding but have never had the opportunity? At Snowsports, they ensure that every member, whether beginner or expert, feels welcomed and at home. If you haven’t skied before, come and learn! It’s fun, it’s exciting and best of all, it’s with people who love your sport! Most people are surprised when they find out that the nearest ski slope is a mere 40 minute coach journey away. Hemel Hempstead allows us to test our abilities on an artificial slope, designed to replicate that from the mountainside. Fundamentally, they wish to regularly take trips to Hemel so that every member is given the opportunity to ski or board!
