If you’re seeking an energetic social life the Students’ Union will be at the heart of the action. It does everything you’d expect: organising parties, comedy nights, live music and student balls.
Beyond campus, the town centre is home to a good selection of venues ranging from traditional pubs to more modern bars and clubs - all within a short walk of each other. There is always plenty going on a new band to see or a student offer to be taken advantage of.
Wrexham Glyndwr University is less than a 10 minute walk to the train station and 15 minutes to the centre of town. The bright lights of Liverpool and Manchester are just an hour away. Located just off the A483, we have excellent links to all major road routes in the North West, as well as an extensive bus network across North Wales, North West England and the Midlands. Wrexham also has great railway connections, with two main stations that run direct services to Chester, Holyhead and the North Wales Coast, Shrewsbury, Birmingham and Cardiff. You can also be in London in just over two and a half hours, Edinburgh in just over four, and Dublin in under six.

Developing key skills and sound knowledge for a successful career in aircraft industries, as well as in a variety of modern engineering sectors, these courses benefit from strong industrial links and is designed to fulfil industries’ requirements. The courses are focused on design. You’ll develop a full understanding of engineering design concepts and the engineering design process. You can explore radical new aeronautical and aerospace concepts and complement this with expertise in mechanical engineering to produce designs. In addition to specialist knowledge and skills in aeronautical engineering, this course also emphasize transferable knowledge and skills to equip you for a broader job market. You’ll be trained to use variety of computer-aided design tools, including industry-highly-required Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) tools. Also, honing your business skills are a key focus throughout the course.
This unique course explores the full range of illustration techniques and applications from editorial artwork and children’s books through to comics and graphic novels. You will learn all skills and then can decide whether to specialise in one area or to continue to develop your knowledge in all areas.
The Football Coaching and the Performance Specialist degree is an innovative programme which integrates football coaching awards into an academic course.
The degree is designed in partnership with the Football Association of Wales (FAW) to prepare students who want to work as a coach or performance specialist (Physiologist, Psychologist, Performance Analyst or Development Officer) in the world of football. Students on the programme will develop practical coaching skills in addition to developing an understanding of the application of sport science (physiology, psychology, performance analysis) and the social context of the sport of football.
Acting and performing for TV and theatre have always been closely linked, but you need an impressive set of skills to make sure you shine at both.
Our Theatre, Television and Performance degree equips you with core skills for a life in performance - be it on stage, in applied theatre, working within the community, television and radio, choreography and dance, facilitation and drama teaching or other areas of theatre and communication. It will open up career options much further beyond as well. You’ll develop public speaking skills and managerial and organisational skills.
A mix of practical and theory, this degree will develop your skills in reading for the stage, text in performance, directing and advanced performance process. The aim of the programme is to nurture the creative aspirations of our students and help them realise their potential as employable practitioners in the Creative Industries.
