Key to this course is the scientific studies of human responses to the outdoors and of performance in the outdoors. This is combined with an opportunity to develop your own outdoor skills concentrated in the practical Water- and Land-based modules and the Expedition module. You will also have the opportunity to work towards National Governing Body recognised qualifications in various disciplines e.g. mountaineering and kayaking. All students study 120 credits in each year of their degree. In addition to modules in the subject specific areas of Physiology, Psychology, Biomechanics, and Motor Control and Learning relating to each degree, there are three components common to all programmes: Academic Skills, Advanced Employability and Research Skills, Project and Dissertation.

How's your Welsh? Nearly half of the town speak it, so better brush up! Bangor is a beautiful place, with Snowdonia nearby. The nights out are legendary although, you'll never have one like it anywhere else. Be warned – between the massive hills everywhere and the sticky floors, you’re not gonna want to wear your best shoes. It’s a small town so you’ll make loads of friends quickly. As for the uni itself, my teachers were really charming, intelligent and unafraid to push you into new ways of thinking, and the Union were amazing at making us feel welcome and supported.

The course is brilliant and I would recomend it to anyone. Everything is here that you need, but if you're looking for a big city experience and going out every night until 6am then it's probably not the place for you. But if you love the outside, trying different activities and an evening down the pub then you'll love it!
