    Overall:
My experience with this university has been great so far but I find it is a bit difficult getting around the campus. All in all, I have no complaints about the course or the teaching so far.
    University:
I have not yet explored campus life but from what I can see the university offers many activities and events for students both in the daytime and in the evening.
    Course:
The timetable is relaxed meaning that I am able to revise and read during my free hours which is helpful specifically for this course. A day off during the week allows me to save time on the commute and work at home instead.
    Location:
The commute is not too bad and the trains are fast and I rarely have issues with arriving on time. There is an issue with finding halal food in the area but there are vegetarian options.
    Accommodation:
I am commuting and therefore cannot rate accommodation
    Settling in:
The university encourages students to get to know each other and their lecturers and tutors.

You do not get a lot of support, your left to your own devices. Lecturers have high expectations of students at this university.
    University:
    I feel safe
    Course:
work is not marked electronically. It is hard to understand feedback, thus would have to book an appointment
    Location:
close to town and train station
    Accommodation:
kitchen could be improved and modernised such as Northampton's university ST Johns building which has a TV and Lounge. Better fridges too, food easily goes out of date.
    Settling in:
    very welcoming

pretty good, if you don't care about rankings.
    University:
Cost cutter is a bit pricey. But overall the lifestyle here is quite lively
    Course:
Overall the course is decent but the main let down is foreign lecturers that you cant understand.
    Location:
Not too far from london and not too close.
    Accommodation:
The only downside is the mold
    Settling in:
I only live 2 hours by public transport in london so I can go home anytime i want

Its a good university, the night life could be better, but not the thing to look out for when choosing a uni!
    University:
They really look out for us with a GP surgery on campus, councillors, and all the extra stuff you can do like volunteering or placements, theres a place to go for all of it.
    Course:
To be honest, we aren't in lectures enough hours in the week...what is

    Overall:
The uni, campus, info accessibility, people, things to do are great, only issue is three out of seven lecturers are not great therefore the lesson quality or staff could improve.
    University:
SO MANY SOCIETIES. a campus bar and club, cafes and restaurants.. i dont have to leave the campus at all as many things are provided there. They even do one day sales where they allow local business to set up a market type store for a day - like the flower shop last week or paintball.
    Course:
The timetable, modules and course structure are great and fairly easy to comprehend. However, lecture quality could be better, the lecturers themselves could also use improvement.
    Location:
The uni is in a bit of a far off land... there are buses around and a high street 15 mons away but wish there was a straight line to central London like an easy train or underground. The campus is great but a bit far from civilisation.
    Accommodation:
The accommodation is not cheap, having been in a few rooms - they are not bad, typical student accommodation, the campus is amazing.
    Settling in:
The freshers induction week provided me with ALL the info necessary. I was frightened to step into the deep waters and not understand certain things about uni life or processes etc but so many talks and welcome lectures were organised that I felt right at home and all my questions were answered before I even had the chance to ask them. Now although it's a completely different life to a levels etc I feel right at home.

    Overall:
Brunel is wonderful. I'm having such a great time there because the whole atmosphere is fun, social and really really uplifting. There's always something for everyone and you get to do things you've never done so it does really help you to grow into the person you want to be.
    University:
The uni has so much to offer and it's great as it always open to anybody who wants to join societies or even make a new society. The library is open 24/7 so you can literally hibernate there when exams are close. There are lots of places to eat from subway to social kitchen and even costa
    Course:
This course allows you to be creative and to think outside the box when developing, designing, animating or even doing something different. It teaches the theoretical parts which you then apply to your own practical work and the lecturers are very supportive and nice enough to help you with anything from the idea to the execution of the project you're working on
    Location:
It's set in a really nice place and it can be reached by local buses and London trains. Also it's in a cute little town which has cinemas, shopping malls, and lots and lots of restaurants so there's always something to do
    Accommodation:
    I commute.
    Settling in:
Even though I was shy, the uni had a lot to offer from societies to Activities run by the union by students to students so you never feel left out and that there's ALWAYS something for you to do with others who enjoy it too, which is great as you get to meet new people

    Overall:
I have really enjoyed my first 2 years at Brunel... Would even go as far as to say that those were the best 2 years of my life.
    University:
Sport facilities are really good, night life is ok but only on special nights. Rest is ok, no complains
    Course:
Overall it's ok but some lectures are a waste of time since the lecturer just reads stuff from the slides
    Location:
Close to the town centre and good transport links but far from London central
    Accommodation:
Some rooms are really good, especially for freshers, the rest are ok
    Settling in:
Got used to it within the first 2 weeks as i got to know many people around the uni and my flat mates

    Overall:
The university is very friendly, there are a lot of events going on and the lectures are very in-depth but also requires further reading (of course). The university is huge so you are bound to make friends. The university is close to the town centre where all shops are available. There are also tube links to central London (Piccadilly line)
    University:
student union is amazing and there are always events going on at the university
    Course:
I enjoy the subjects and the lectures are very in-depth and clear
    Location:
quite far from my home but close to town centre
    Accommodation:

Really amazing made lots of new friends at the same time learn to be more independent
    University:
    Overall a great experience
    Course:
As it involved lot of relevant modules however not much pratical side of the course was taught.

  • by Anonymous on 5th October 2015
    Overall:
The accommodation is poor and you are a distance from large and popular shops along with the tube station
    University:
I don't get involved too much
    Course:
It seems to baby me at times and seems to lack any activity learning that other courses have.
    Location:
We are not close to a lot of the shops they are a long walk or bus ride away. There is also a lack of companies that deliver and give discounts to students.
    Accommodation:
The halls have thin walls and are open to a large number of people who you don't all know and this can feel unsafe. The rooms are also not modern and really need to be updated in size and quality for what is paid.
    Settling in:
The accommodation doesn't feel like home because of it's poor quality

    Overall:
A life-changing experience and one that I will cherish and continue to share for the rest of my life!!!
    University:
It's the best thing I've ever done.
    Course:
Quite a basic course, only 7 hours a week which is disappointing! All PowerPoint based, very limited on variety of teaching methods.
    Location:
40 mins on the tube from central London. Excellent transport links. Just a bit expensive still as inside the M25!
    Accommodation:
The majority of campus accommodation is nice, though some halls are very outdated, over 20 years old to be precise!
    Settling in:
Fishers was excellent, with lots going on. I made friends almost immediately, and definitely after the first couple of nights! I have met some wonderful people at Brunel and continue to do so each year.
