This degree is the first of its kind in the UK. Itâs ideal for those who are fascinated by the human-animal relationship and would like to further these therapeutic benefits. Youâll explore the role that animals play in the rehabilitation of mental and physical illness, disabilities, and the promotion of health and wellbeing. We have over 70 animal species on campus for students to learn with. Your learning will be brought to life with case studies, industry placements and by working with humans and animals on site.
You'll benefit from industry opportunities on-campus in our commercial animal therapy centres as well as with our industry partners in Gloucestershire, across the UK and internationally. Youâll graduate ready to make a difference in an exciting and expanding employment industry. Graduate destinations could include zoos, charities, animal education, animal-assisted therapies, using animals in counselling and bereavement, and the pet and veterinary sector.

I would recommend hartpury too students who want to play sport at a high level but also to students who are prepared to do their share of the work, this often reduces some of the social aspects that students may associate with university. Obviously there is a social aspect but it's not necessarily based on drinking and going out like some university's. Also being a smaller uni is something students should factor in, personally I really enjoy it as it allows me to really have a strong relationship with my lecturers and other people on my course and really aids personal development.
