LLB (Hons), Sandwich With Time Abroad
, Duration: 4 Years
At Keele University, we're different. Nestled in 600 acres of countryside in the heart of the UK, we have a big campus but a small and cosmopolitan community. We're proud to be 'University of the Year for Student Experience' in The Times and The Sunday Times Good University Guide 2017, in addition to having been ranked No.1 in the National Student Survey 2014-2016. This is because it's more than green and lovely, it's a place of research and academic excellence too.
With an impressive list of alumni practising law at the highest levels, this Single Honours programme is recognised as a qualifying law degree that will enable you to train as a solicitor or barrister after graduation.
Our law degree examines law in its social, political, ethical, historical and international contexts. You'll explore core legal subjects such as crime, torts, contract, land, equity and public law, developing your understanding of the rules which structure relationships between governments and citizens, and between private individuals.
You'll study principles and doctrines of English and European and International law and have plenty of opportunities to develop your practical skills. You can take part in mooting (practising oral arguments), client interviewing, and could volunteer as a Community Legal Companion, within the innovative CLOCK programme.
The Single Honours law programme is accredited by the Solicitors Regulation Authority and the Bar Standards Board as a 'qualifying law degree' and thus satisfies the academic stage of legal professional qualification.
Your degree will also be of value in many other careers. After further study or training you might work as a company secretary, chartered accountant, tax advisor or in business. You might also work in the police service or pursue a career with a charity or in international relations.
