BSc (Hons), Sandwich With Time Abroad
, Duration: 4 Years
Course Summary:
At Keele University, we're different. Nestled in 600 acres of countryside in the heart of the UK, we have a big campus but a small and cosmopolitan community. We proudly rank 1st for student satisfaction in the National Student Survey for the last three years. This is because it's more than green and lovely, it's a place of research and academic excellence too.
Our dual honours programme in Chemistry and Forensic Science is recognised by the Chartered Society of Forensic Sciences. Chemistry is the science behind many of the modern innovations that we have come to rely on today, and Forensic Science focuses on the applications of scientific methods, including chemical analytical techniques, in the context of crime. Keele's Chemistry and Forensic Science programme will provide you with a broad perspective on analytical science, and the key skills valued by employers. You will develop a wide range of relevant practical laboratory skills, and sound theoretical understanding, enabling you to tackle a variety of problems in both Chemistry and Forensic Science contexts.
In 2015 Chemistry and Forensic Science at Keele was ranked 3rd in the UK for student satisfaction in the National Student Survey. This is an ideal degree if you wish to pursue a career in Analytical or Forensic Chemistry. The professional forensic sector offers various options for graduates with many going on to the police and military police forces and to roles within the public crime sector. Our graduates have progressed to careers within the chemical, pharmaceutical and environment industries as analytical scientists and researchers within business and industry.
