BA (Hons), Full-time Including Foundation Year
, Duration: 4 Years
At Keele University, we're different. Nestled in 600 acres of countryside in the heart of the UK, we have a big campus but a small and cosmopolitan community. We're proud to be 'University of the Year for Student Experience' in The Times and The Sunday Times Good University Guide 2017, in addition to having been ranked No.1 in the National Student Survey 2014-2016. This is because it's more than green and lovely, it's a place of research and academic excellence too.
This course provides excellent preparation for a wide range of subjects relating to business, management, accounting, finance and economics. The Business Foundation Year has been developed in consultation with Keele Management School which has a long established and growing international reputation. Study of the theory of business and management goes hand in hand with investigation into up-to-date case studies and training in academic literacy, numerical and computational skills.
After you have completed your Business Foundation Year, you could progress on to the Business Management and Economics course. By using professional software tools such as Bloomberg and Stata, you will analyse and interpret real economic data to become confident in communicating complex business information to a range of audiences. You can then opt to enhance your employability skills by taking a placement year between years two and three of your studies.
The programme will introduce you to techniques for addressing real world problems and policy-related issues. You will explore the behaviour of households, businesses and governments from a multidisciplinary perspective.
You will consider issues of social importance, examine real world phenomena and combine theoretical analysis with an up to date knowledge of current issues.
