**We are very proud to be the top university in UK for design and crafts (Guardian University Guide league tables 2020)**
Our Product & Furniture Design BA course is practical and workshop-based and allows you to experiment and design everything from commercial furniture and housewares to ceramics and technology products.
The course focuses on practical experimentation informed by the use of materials, technologies and production processes. You'll learn about the qualities of materials, their potential sustainability and appropriate application. You'll study the roles that designers play, and the impact design can have on social, political, environmental and commercial contexts.
Our strong links with industry mean students can test their ideas at leading companies. In the past these have included John Lewis, Herman Miller and New Balance. You can also attend guest lectures from industry leaders.
You'll have the opportunity to attend field trips as part of the course. Previous trips have included visits to Milan, Munich, Paris, Berlin, Barcelona and Valencia. You'll graduate with a portfolio of 2D and 3D work to launch your career and show to potential employers.

Application deadline details:
A very supportive environment, with a comforting and lush market town surrounding campus in lovely Surrey. It’s a such a beautiful campus, but if you fancy a bit of excitement, the centre of London's only 20 minutes away – the best of both worlds, really. And there's a really friendly atmosphere, especially with the Student Union who are incredibly helpful, very friendly and considerate. There’s loads going on throughout the year – for one, the food festival hits town just as Freshers gets going, so you can meet your new flatmates and find new and exotic hangover cures!
I am liking everything about it so far. The location is beautiful. Students are provided with many useful programs during the first week to help you settle in the most. The uni is very organised and proactive in its services
