Course Summary:
**Please note that Combined Honours degrees at Liverpool Hope University are split 50/50. This means both subjects will be studied equally.** **Music** Are you passionate about music? Do you want explore not only the practical aspects of creating beautiful music, but also the history and theory behind it? Studying Music at Liverpool Hope gives the opportunity to cover a broad range of topics and genres, designed to enhance your musical experience. Your studies will focus on **historical, analytical, academic, compositional and performance skills** in a course led by staff with a broad range of teaching and research specialisms. Based at our Creative Campus, the Music Department is housed in the Capstone building. It is one of only a handful of **All-Steinway Music Schools** in the UK and, in addition to a Steinway Model D in the Capstone Theatre, also boasts, a chamber organ, two harpsichords, a suite of sound- proofed practice rooms, all equipped with Steinway pianos, as well as four electronic studios and other specialised teaching spaces. The music department is also proud to work closely with partner organisations to enhance teaching and broaden your student experience.Through our partnership with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra (RLPO), you will experience having **your compositions workshopped regularly by professional musicians**. The Music Department also has major partnerships with The European Opera Centre, Milapfest (Indian Music and Dance), The Beatles Story, and the City's two cathedrals. As a student at Liverpool Hope, you will also have the opportunity to get involved with the department's flourishing musical life. As well as a vibrant, **student-led Music Society** which organises performances and social events throughout the year, students can get involved in performance through the lunchtime concert series and open-mic nights. **Psychology** Our degree is **accredited by the British Psychological Society** (BPS) and upon completion of your studies you will become eligible for Graduate Basis of Chartered Membership (GBC). This will give you access to the postgraduate training courses of the BPS and will be your first major step in becoming a professional psychologist. Psychology is the exciting scientific study of the mind and behaviour. Psychologists investigate how people perceive the world, structure their thinking, solve problems, interact with other people and much more. Concepts such as **perception, cognition, personality and social behaviour** are all central building blocks of the psychological theories that are studied at Liverpool Hope as part of a Psychology degree. Study with us and you will gain a deeper understanding of the scientific and philosophical underpinnings of psychology. At Liverpool Hope University, **high-level, research-oriented teaching is provided by our team of skilled academics**. Our staff comprise of active researchers with a wide array of academic interests, ranging from cognitive and brain sciences, developmental, clinical and health, forensic, personality and social processes. You will be **taught in our excellent research facilities, including labs for experiments** in cognition and perception, a colour vision lab, an Eye tracker lab, an EEG lab, an fNIRS lab, observational and transcription labs. Studying this degree allows you to learn about the brain, the mind, and behaviour, but first and foremost psychologists learn about our fellow humans. We help you to **develop professional skills and tools to understand others' needs** and provide interventions to enhance mental wellbeing.     This uni offers full support to students with scholarships , you are not just a number. Lecturers within the music department are fully committed to help you learn, enthuastic and if you take opportunities they are willing to help. Music department brand new all steinway pianos. Separate campus for the arts students is a great idea!

    Other than a few minor issues I have (that staff have been made aware of and are working towards fixing), I think the university is fab.
