Marketing is one of the most challenging, fast-moving and exciting disciplines in business globally. Our Marketing degree has a theoretical focus that is combined with practical examples of how companies apply the theory on a day-to- day basis, meaning that what you learn is not only academically sound but also rooted in the realities of todayâs dynamic marketplace.
During your degree, you will be provided with the key skills and knowledge that will enable you to understand marketing context, marketing research and the disciplineâs central role to business success, while allowing you to reflect on the moral and ethical implications of marketing behaviour. The ever advancing fields of Social Media and digital marketing run through the marketing curriculum as central themes and allow you to reflect on the dynamic challenges and opportunities that these technological and cultural changes provide.
The degree has been designed so that you learn from research-active staff while at the same time being mentored and given masterclasses by industry leaders. Marketing focuses on a wide range of organisations, from SMEs to global multinational companies, and we have close interaction with the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM). Studying a comprehensive view of the marketing world prepares you for a career in organisations of any type and size.
Contemporary society is becoming ever more complex and the need to understand how it works is increasingly important. Sociology is the study of how society is organised, how this influences the attitudes and behaviour of individuals and the impact this has on social relationships both within and between societies. Accordingly, sociology is now commonly regarded as an essential discipline for understanding the development of all modern societies. The Sociology degree at Liverpool Hope will help you to think critically and constructively about the key questions relating to modern society.
Our sociology degree is based around a core that provides inputs from social theory and from the comparison of different forms of society. The degree will help you to examine âcommon-senseâ assumptions about the world by exploring the issues that confront society nationally and globally and studying the theories and methods that help to explain and understand these issues. It also examines and evaluates the methods of research which make the study of society possible. The degree enables you to study a range of additional topics which cover the whole spectrum of sociological inquiry.
Staff are enthusiastic and dedicated and will help you to get the most out of your degree. In line with Liverpool Hopeâs commitment to social justice both nationally and internationally, Sociology attempts to understand social issues and problems that confront the modern world and, in so doing challenges received wisdom.

Considering that I have social anxiety, being at hope has already helped me gain a lot more confidence and I am finding it a lot easier, and fun engaging in the uni life and socialising more so I think that I would rate my uni experience so far around a 3/5
