  • BA (Hons), Full-time , Duration: 3 Years
Course Summary:
**Please note that Combined Honours degrees at Liverpool Hope University are split 50/50. This means both subjects will be studied equally.** **Geography** Geography is about exploring, encountering and engaging with the world around us. It is a dynamic and exciting subject to study. It looks at how the physical world works; how people interact both with each other and with the physical world; how landscapes (both physical and human) evolve; and the ways in which the environment needs to be conserved and managed. Geography covers many different perspectives and brings them together to create a distinctive way of understanding the world. Whether your interests are more towards physical, environmental or human geography, our degree offers you the chance to **develop an integrated, enriched understanding of what is taking place on our planet**.Studying Geography means you will look at a **wide range of different topics** and learn a broad range of skills. For this reason, a **Geography degree is one of the most valued subjects among potential employers**. An enthusiastic and friendly team of geographers and environmentalists with wide research interests teach Geography at Hope. You will find that Liverpool is a great place to study Geography, being an excellent case study of economic, environmental and social regeneration, and having surroundings that include stunning upland and coastal landscapes. **Media & Communication** If you want an exciting career in the media but also want to understand how and why the media reports and represents the world in the ways it does, studying at Hope is the next step for you. Media and Communication provides you with an opportunity to closely study and analyse the ways in which the media industry shapes and is shaped by our world. Our degree is designed to **help you become an industry leader** who is equipped to take on the critical task of ensuring a more reliable, trustworthy media industry, whether you choose to work in television, radio, journalism, marketing or PR. We think one of the best ways to study creativity is by making things, so you have the opportunity to make films (drama, documentary or animation), produce photographic portfolios, work in a studio and write screenplays. Our curriculum is taught by **lecturers with a reputation for international research** and by a practitioner who has made BAFTA and EMMY award winning programmes and animated films. Media and Communication at Liverpool Hope is **underpinned by the notion of interrogating power**. We believe that the media must always be held to account and has a responsibility to pursue social justice. Whether it be through journalism, ethical marketing or documentary filmmaking, our aim is to produce graduates who will make a better world.

Considering that I have social anxiety, being at hope has already helped me gain a lot more confidence and I am finding it a lot easier, and fun engaging in the uni life and socialising more so I think that I would rate my uni experience so far around a 3/5
