Course Summary:
Our exciting Media and Communication BSc (Hons) course takes a multidisciplinary approach to the study of media and communication. You will acquire a thorough understanding of both historical and contemporary developments across a number of key media sectors including; the press, broadcasting, film, advertising and digital media. On our Media and Communication BSc (Hons) course you will gain a wide range of specialist analytical and practical skills relevant to many jobs that involve working with the media and communication industries. The broad scope of the course is designed to enable you to work in a range of different fields of communication and media, and adapt flexibly to the rapidly changing environment where critical understanding and analytical skills are of key importance.
Modules:
Year 1: Areas studied include communication and media, research methods, study skills, media landscapes, critical viewings, and texts and audiences. Year 2: Areas studied include media, identity and inequality, critical viewings of film, media and social change, social research methods, and advertising, public relations and society. Final year: Areas studied include a dissertation, critical viewings of television and documentaries, presenting media debates and digital media and society. Assessment Methods:
Assessment is carried out using a number of different methods. The type of method depends on the nature of the module. Methods include: Examinations, Essays, Reports, Presentations, In-class tests, Multiple choice examinations, Independent work exercises, Dissertation.

Loughborough is an incredible university. The halls are excellent, clean and spacious, and the uni makes everything really exciting in first year with so much to get involved in. The sports and exercise facilities at the uni are really amazing too. There are so many great support structures and opportunities to join the union, as well as special campaigns, like Play With Pride, so you'll feel welcome and inspired throughout your studies.

    Loughborough provides a fantastic atmosphere for your studies. Am extremely warm and friendly place with so much to get involved in. The facilities are wicked! To be honest the UK university rankings speak for themselves! You can’t go wrong here!
