You will gain a variety of skills and knowledge including child development, education theory and classroom management which will enable you to put into context what you observe in the classroom and have a range of strategies to aim for outstanding teaching practice.
Students have the opportunity to choose an enhancement subject. Safeguarding is also an important aspect in the teacherâs role and this is an area in which you will be thoroughly trained and prepared.
In addition to the three year degree we offer a four year option, which is especially attractive for student-teachers who aim to progress into leadership positions within schools. This programme also includes Masterâs level credits which can be transferred to the Newman MA Education. We have strong partnerships with local schools, which are particularly beneficial to our students for their placements and for future employment.
You will be taught in groups which allow for a high level of support; in order to enhance your confidence and development as a teacher.
