Our Financial Mathematics MSci is ideal for students planning a career in the more quantitative areas of finance and banking, and for those wanting to undertake academic research.
In your first year youâll take modules that will give you a foundation in all the core areas of mathematics and statistics, and gain practical data analysis skills. In later years youâll have the opportunity to study modules across financial and actuarial mathematics, statistical modelling, financial management, programming and more.
In your final year youâll take advanced modules and develop your research skills by completing an individual project in contemporary mathematical finance. Projects are supervised by one of the Schoolâs academics, many of whom have industry experience in mathematical finance.

Most of your modules will be assessed by an examination worth at least 90 per cent of the yearâs study, with the remainder covered by coursework and tests. All students on MSci programmes also complete a final-year project.

This is a great uni. It is close to public transport, whilst also having an array of cheap take out, restaurants and fast food options for students. The freshers events are great to make friends and get involved. Don't miss any!
