This Joint Honours course will provide you with a solid grounding in management and business practices, and give you the opportunity to gain fluency in the language of your choice - French, German, Italian or Spanish.
Whether you start at beginners', advanced or native-speaker level, you will study the core language components for the language you have chosen, gaining skills in writing, reading, speaking and listening. All our teaching is led by native speakers.
The remainder of your modern languages study will give you an opportunity to explore the literature, art, culture and history of the language area you are studying, from seventeenth-century French theatre to representations of childhood and youth in German culture, and from Italian fashion and design to visual arts from all the corners of the Spanish-speaking world. As a modern linguist, you will develop excellent communication and research skills, and combine lingusitic proficiency with cross-cultural perspectives.
In your third year you will have the opportunity to spend a year working, teaching or studying abroad, where you will immerse yourself in another language and culture, truly broadening your horizons in the process.

Through our School of Management you will build a foundation for strategic planning, evaluation of risks and opportunities, communicating key messages, managing resources, effective deployment of human and financial assets, and evaluating the results. Skills which, when combined with language fluency, make you highly employable.

Your course will be assessed by a combination of examinations and in-course assignments in the form of essays or presentations.

The staff were seriously amazing, I’ve never felt so well supported and encouraged by teachers before. The union was also very friendly and dedicated to representing and helping students, with great services available. In terms of nightlife, you can grab a nice pint in Egham or on campus, or head out to Windsor or into London for clubbing. But it's a pretty quiet place - definitely don't come here for a party, but that's not everyone's style.

I really do like this university. It is very international and you meet all sorts of people. Whenever I had a problem, there was always a student or a member of staff available to help me solve it as soon as possible.
