Course Summary:
This graduate entry, two-year LLB programme is ideal if you are looking to start a career in law, whether as a barrister or a solicitor, or if you are interested in the legal system and the ways in which laws are made and upheld. You will be equipped with a wide range of transferrable skills which are highly sought after by employers. On completion of this course, you will be exempt from the academic stage of training for the legal profession, allowing you to proceed directly to the Bar Professional Training Course or the Legal Practice Course. You will consider the laws which apply to a variety of situations arising within the legal system. This will develop your understanding of how the law regulates agreements between individuals, and the relationship between the individual and the state. In addition to acquiring invaluable legal skills in research and oral presentation, you will have the opportunity to choose from a range of subjects in fields such as family law, medical law, company law and public international law. Our School of Law has a reputation for high quality research and teaching. Whilst studying Law at Royal Holloway you will explore the fundamental principles of justice, equity and equality within the framework of English and European law. Our balanced approach to research and teaching guarantees that our subject leaders provide you with cutting-edge materials and engage you in intellectually challenging debates. The staff were seriously amazing, I’ve never felt so well supported and encouraged by teachers before. The union was also very friendly and dedicated to representing and helping students, with great services available. In terms of nightlife, you can grab a nice pint in Egham or on campus, or head out to Windsor or into London for clubbing. But it's a pretty quiet place - definitely don't come here for a party, but that's not everyone's style.
