The Business Foundation Year will help you build your academic skills, providing you with a platform to pursue a business-related undergraduate degree. Successful completion of the Business foundation year will provide a pathway to the Accountancy and Finance degree. Whether you dream of becoming an accountant, investment broker or financial advisor, this full-time degree will help equip you with the skills you’ll need to get your career off to a great start. This programme aims to help students to take advantage of these graduate jobs by providing them with a solid understanding of the industry, the opportunity to pursue work experience and the chance to engage with specific areas of finance that interest them. Students on the BA (Hons) Accountancy and Finance course study intensively, looking at both national and international markets to ensure a firm understanding of the global economy. The curriculum itself is partly based around first hand advice and real life examples of working in the industry. Not only does this better prepare students for their working life, it also ensures that staff and students are keeping up to date with the latest developments in this fast moving industry. Our accrediting institutions can provide students with support and guidance both during and after their degree. This support has helped past students to secure year-long work placements, which every students is given the opportunity to undertake between the second and third years of their degree. Year three: CORE UNITS *Corporate Reporting *Accounting for Management Decisions *Corporate Financial Management *The International Financial System. OPTIONS *Advanced Taxation *Capital Market Trading *Curriculum Plus.
Assessment Methods:
To prepare students for the range of assessments normally found on an undergraduate course, students will participate in a range of assessments and examinations. This course is taught primarily through classroom-based study, with online support via Solent’s virtual learning environment. You’ll also be part of a mentor group, with a dedicated academic mentor to support you in your studies.

    The university offers so many incredible courses and the course tutors are all really nice and helpful! The facilities available are amazing and I would definitely recommend the university to anyone whos thinking of going

    I have only experienced just over half a year so far and therefore cant give it 5/5 stars! But I would highly recommend here for the brilliant friends student life.
