As a nurse you can make a huge difference to people's health and wellbeing. Offered in partnership with the Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, the University of Boltonâs Nursing (Adult) degree aims to give you the experience and skills to join this demanding yet deeply rewarding career.
The University of Boltonâs Nursing (Adult) degree, offered in partnership with Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, is designed to prepare you for a successful career caring for people over 18. There is a shortage of qualified nurses in the UK, so the career opportunities are excellent.
Youâll spend 50% of your time in clinical practice placements at our partner Trust and study at the University will complement and enhance your learning in the workplace. Weâll support you as you learn to care for adults with acute and long-term illnesses, in hospital and at home, and gain expertise in health promotion and disease prevention.
Together with our partner Trust, weâll work to prepare you to become a confident, professional nurse, able to deliver and lead adult care within an ever changing health and social care environment. On successful completion of the nursing qualification youâll possess the knowledge and skills you need to perform as an independent, highly competent, compassionate nurse who can be trusted to maintain professional standards and assure the protection of the public.

The support services are really helpful, as is the Student Union which really listens to students and helps them out. My teachers were really enthusiastic and nice, and the course was chock full of content that was incredibly interesting. There were loads of societies where I met so many interesting new people. A lovely, friendly university, with a nice little nightlife - and Liverpool and Manchester are a quick train ride away if you want to have a big night out.

It is a smal university with friendly staff but not in an exciting buzzing area/ atmosphere

I have thoroughly enjoyed myself here, I've made friends that feel like family and although like every university there are flaws, this university will always be first in my heart and I can recommend anyone who wants more than just education to come here. I am very happy with the choice I made studying at Bolton, because the experience I've had I'm sure there is quite non like it. You can get a degree anywhere in the world but you can't get a degree and lasting bonds of friendship anywhere else other than Bolton.
