Cambridge is everything the Oxbridge stereotype tells you - it's challenging, it's grand, it's academically focused, it's stunningly beautiful and it's intense. But it's also everything the stereotype doesn't tell you - it's still a normal student experience. The town has everything you could possibly want or need within a few minutes walk of most colleges (yes, even nightlife, provided you don't mind cheesy music); it has student clubs for every sport, art form and interest under the sun (including an Ice Cream Appreciation society); and it's filled with the most diverse, friendly and accepting group of people you'll ever meet.

Takes some getting used to and definitely not for everybody as you really have to be willing to put the time in in order to succeed, but if you do your part putting the work in you can get a huge amount back from the university staff and the friends around you. The college system is great. You're constantly surrounded by loads of really fantastic people. Play sport!

Ignore the stereotypes. There are some posh people. There are far, far more normal people. We're just like everyone else - we hate essays, we love having fun.
