Course Summary:
Our BSc in Biological Sciences with Education will allow you to gain the crucial knowledge and practical skills central to biological science. You'll have a guaranteed placement in a local secondary school and a range of biology options to choose from, so that you can tailor your course to your specific interests. In addition, you can choose modules from the School of Education to further your understanding of education. You'll also gain crucial independent research experience and you'll complete a compulsory project module in education research, as well as one in your chosen area of Biological Science. At UEA we are uniquely partnered with the Norwich Research Park, providing you with access to learning experience that is dynamic and fascinating – and fueled by current research, which is happening right here, right now. **Course Structure** The flexibility of the programme encourages you to explore and pursue your own specialist interests within Biological Sciences and Education as the course progresses. **Year 1** In year one you'll complete modules covering all the major areas of biology, as well as others to give you a grounding in mathematics, statistics, and chemistry. You'll also be encouraged to get involved in extracurricular education and science communication activity across the Science Faculty. **Year 2** In year two you'll complete a compulsory work placement module, 'Education in Action'. You will then have the opportunity to select from more than 25 advanced optional modules, covering a diverse range of biological subjects, from Biochemistry and Cell Biology to Behavioral Ecology and Evolutionary Biology. These module choices will also include options in Education, covering both theory and practice. **Year 3** In your third and final year you'll complete 'Education Research' – a compulsory module through which you'll produce an independent Education project. You'll also have the chance to apply your developing scientific interests through independent research, as you complete a substantial scientific research project, too. **Disclaimer** Course details are subject to change. The facilities on campus range from the library to the bar and from shops to accommodation which means that it is possible to live on campus without venturing away but at the same time the city of Norwich is a lovely place to explore. The nightlife could be better in terms of more diverse music, but the lcr is enough for most people due to convenience. Lots of activities and sport to get into. Wish only I had time to do them all!

I would thoroughly recommend UEA because I've had such a great time here so far!
