Course Summary:
The Extended Degree programme, with an additional Level 0 year, prepares you for successful transition to Level 1 of your chosen degree programme through a stimulating and engaging programme of study. It provides a supportive learning space to work on your academic skills in preparation for Level 1 and beyond. This one-year preparatory programme offers you the opportunity to start your journey towards life as a professional graduate and provides an excellent foundation for your studies at degree level. The BSc (Hons) Computer Game Development degree is focused on providing the abilities necessary to create gameplay systems successfully using a variety of industry-standard tools across many platforms. At every level students work on group projects in multidisciplinary teams to design and develop games.

Assessment Methods:
Learning takes place through lectures, seminars, practical workshops in specialist labs, screenings, presentations, critiques and invited speakers from industry. Tutorial sessions are a major part of the course, as well as personal one-to-one supervision of final-year projects and dissertations. All assessment is via practical, theoretical and group and individual project coursework.

When they say East, they mean pretty far east! The campus and accommodation are located right on the Thames in Beckton, and traveling into Central via the DLR offers a nice scenic route into London. The teaching was great, too – my tutors really cared, and were devoted to the local area which was great in my first year when I wasn’t too sure about living in London.
