Course Summary:
English Literature at the University of Hertfordshire is a vibrant subject area, with a dedicated, experienced group of staff. Students rate the teaching they receive very highly. In the National Student Survey 2015, 92% of students studying English Studies agreed that staff explained things clearly, 94% found the staff enthusiastic about their subject, and 88% found the course intellectually stimulating. History undergraduates are taught by leading researchers who bring their evidence and investigations into the classroom. In the National Student Survey 2015, 96% of History students agreed that staff explained things clearly, 93% found the staff enthusiastic about their subject, and 90% found the course intellectually stimulating. Our unique Humanities Programme at the University of Hertfordshire enables you to study a combination of major and minor subjects to create a really bespoke degree that suits both your strengths and interests. The '€œand/with'€ in your title means that you'll be able to either study one subject AND another subject equally (50/50 split) or one subject WITH another (75/25 split). In fact, you can go one step further and customise your degree even more by supplementing your first year with additional minor subjects. Then it's up to you whether you continue with your unique combination from your second year of study or simply specialise in perhaps just one or two subject areas.

I had great tutors and support during my course, and I'm very happy with that aspect - it's an amazing place to study law. The library and PC facilities are top notch! Hatfield is a small town, but you can still find something to do. If you are more a pub person, you can hang out with your mates on campus or in Hatfield, or if clubbing’s more your scene you can hop on the bus to St Albans, which is full of places to go.

It’s a fun community with caring and supportive staff, a university with really good facilities and it’s welcoming to be here and experience life away from home.

People who come here want a decent University experience that can hold its own. One shouldn't compare this uni to the likes of other unis like SOAS (if you are interested in japanese culture like I am) but it is still a very solid average university.
