Our degree focuses on the mathematics you'll need to solve real-world problems, and you’ll hone your technical skills via modules which see you work in groups. This allows you to develop experience in project management and teamwork, while introducing you to the creative side of mathematics.

Teaching has a clear focus on developing you via logical reasoning skills and meaningful quantitative models. You'll also study statistics, from basic probability to the frontiers of Big Data and you’ll have the opportunity to cover numerical computing, allowing you to use mathematical software and write programs.

You’ll be taught through a combination of lectures, tutorials, and practical sessions. The course emphasis is on the development of sound practical skills, alongside an understanding of theory.

Assessment includes portfolios of work, presentations, as well as formal examinations. There are opportunities for group working, in addition to individual assessments.
