On top of getting a grounding in the core areas of organic, inorganic, analytical and physical chemistry, youâll get the chance to explore more specialist options during your studies, so you could find yourself delving into medicinal chemistry or getting to grips with forensic science. All helping you to tailor your degree to the kind of job youâd like to do after graduation.
All along the way, the course is designed to help you gain knowledge of the fundamentals while developing your logical reasoning and imaginative problem-solving skills. Youâll be able to put all that into practice when you get one yearâs research experience in an academic setting in Year 3. Huddersfield was a challenging and fun experience for me. The lecturers really inspired me to think creatively and forced me to consider new perspectives. The city life is ok, there’s not tonnes of clubbing but you can always hop on the train to Leeds or Manchester for a mad one. I prefer to hang out in the pub after lectures, anyway. There are loads of great facilities here too, the library is particularly amazing. The careers service is also incredibly helpful, I walked straight into a job after graduation!

The University of Huddersfield may not be a RussellGroup uni, it may not be the most well known, and it may be considered 'lesser' by some, but once you study there you learn that the uni has great industry links, offers wonderful support, and gives you more than just a degree. I would highly recommend it!
