Course details
Course UCAS code: F300
Qualification type:
  • BSc (Hons), Full-time , Duration: 3 Years
Course Summary:
Physics is the most fundamental of the sciences. New Concepts, such as quantum mechanics and relativity, are introduced at degree level in order to understand nature at the deepest level. These theories have profound philosophical implications because they challenge our view of the everyday world. At the same time they have a huge impact on society since they underpin the technological revolution. While studying one of the most intellectually satisfying disciplines, you will acquire transferable skills including numeracy, problem solving and an ability to reason clearly and communicate well. Physics degrees are highly prized in the flexible labour market of today and our graduates have excellent career opportunities in academic research, industrial research and development, teaching, computing, business and finance. This programme is accredited by the Institute of Physics (IOP) for the purpose of fully meeting the educational requirement for Chartered Physicist. This programme is available with a Year in China. The Year in China allows undergraduate students the opportunity to spend one year at our joint venture, Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University (XJTLU), following XJTLU's BA China Studies degree classes. XJTLU is a fully English-speaking university, located in Suzhou. If you wish to study this programme with a Year in China please put the option code YC in the Further Choices section of your UCAS application form.

I was so surprised by my time in Liverpool! I wasn’t expecting such a culturally vibrant and exciting city! I’m a theatre nut, so having the Everyman on my doorstep was an incredible opportunity to learn and expand my horizons. The scousers are also incredibly warm and friendly, and between the vast numbers of students and locals you’ll make loads of new friends. The course was hugely enjoyable, with varied and dynamic lecturers who are constantly pushing you academically, and the SU helps students out in a myriad of ways.
