You'll study in new laboratories based in the £40m David Ross Sports Village, as well as using the facilities in our Medical School. These include a full-body dissection suite and a functional sports medicine laboratory.
Being part of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences means we can draw on the expertise of our academics to provide you with the latest knowledge across the medical and biological sciences.
You'll be able to expand your studies through optional advanced study modules and by completing a final-year research project in a topic of your choice.
During year one, you'll study the fundamentals in human physiology, biochemistry, cell biology and advanced mathematics. These include biomechanics, exercise physiology and psychology. You'll gain laboratory experience as well as completing a first aid qualification.
In the second year, you'll continue to study physiology, biomechanics and psychology but in more depth. Other relevant disciplines may include nutrition, human anatomy and sports medicine.
Year three sees you undertaking a research project. This project is an exciting opportunity to consolidate your learning while working in an area you find interesting. You will work alongside a research group in the University, with supervision from a research-active academic. Advanced optional modules will also be available for you to choose from.

I think the Uni is one of the best in the UK. Taking into account what the city has to offer and the provisions made by the university, staff enthusiasm and a focus on students needs, I am very happy I chose this uni over others.
