The University of Lincoln’s inspiring, waterfront campus is right in the heart of the friendly and vibrant city of Lincoln. Join our well established medicine course that offers innovative teaching and early interaction with patients, ensuring you learn from practical experience. We train tomorrow’s doctors on a vibrant undergraduate medical course with a unique integrated BMedSci (Bachelor of Medical Science) degree. At Lincoln you will learn anatomy through hands-on experience using pro-section in our brand new facilities. Clinical practice is an important element of your medical education. We work with NHS Trusts and general practices across Lincolnshire to help you gain excellent general practice and secondary care experience. It is essential you gain clinical experience in a range of settings so you are prepared with the transferable skills needed for when you qualify. It is also advantageous to experience working in hospitals of different sizes and in different locations so that you have contact with varied patient populations. Many of our academics are clinicians, using their expertise to provide cutting edge specialised treatment to NHS patients, reflecting that patients are at the heart of all we do. This course is open to UK, EU and International students.
In the first two years, the scientific basis of medicine is taught in a clinical context covering, molecular/cellular aspects of medicine, physiology and anatomy, healthcare in the community and clinical and professional development. In the third year you will undertake a supervised research project of your choice, leading to the award of a BMedSci. Following this you will move into the clinical phases where you will rotate through a series of placements, in the community and within the Trusts in Lincolnsire.
