Incorporating a year abroad, this course will provide you with a legal qualification based on English law as well as an appreciation of the law of France. You will also develop advanced language skills and cultural awareness. You will spend your third year studying abroad in France. You will get the opportunity to broaden your horizons and enhance your employability by experiencing another culture. You can choose to study similar modules to your counterparts back in Nottingham or expand your knowledge by taking other options (teaching is typically in French).
In year one you will study the Law of Contract, Public Law and Understanding Law plus core and introductory language modules. Second-year studies incorporate core modules in Criminal Law, Foundations of Tort and Land Law, as well as language modules. You will also take Civil Law: A Comparative Introduction. This ensures that you are able to spend your third year abroad â equipped not only with the language skills required, but also with a legal grounding that will widen your learning opportunities. After spending your third-year studying abroad in France, you will return to Nottingham for your final year, where you will take core modules in the Law of Trusts and the Law of the European Union, plus language modules.
