Course Summary:
Physiotherapy seeks to optimise human movement and function by using physical approaches to promote, maintain and restore physical, psychological and social wellbeing. This degree, accredited by the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy, equips you with the knowledge and skills required by physiotherapists to provide evidence-based health care. Our physiotherapy graduates have excellent problem-solving skills, they are technically proficient, professionally aware and as such, move seamlessly into graduate practice - in short, they are very employable. The course benefits from dedicated and innovative teaching staff operating from purpose built, state-of- the-art technical and learning facilities. Upon graduation you are eligible to become a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy and apply to be placed on the Health and Care Professions Council's (HCPC) Register of Physiotherapists.
Modules:
The first year lays down the foundation skills of clinical reasoning and problem-solving, focusing on the anatomy, physiology, pathology and management of upper and lower limb conditions, as well as exercise prescription. A threeweek introductory placement consolidates this learning. The second year explores the neurological, cardio-respiratory and spinal musculo-skeletal systems. This year also incorporates two six-week placements. During the third year, there are greater opportunities for you to direct your own learning and develop independence in managing your professional development. By examining complex rehabilitation needs and involvement in researchbased projects and assignments, you are able to develop critical analysis and problem-solving skills required for employment.

Manchester is a legendary party city, with loads of things to do every night and lots of things catered to students. The facilities at the Uni are amazing, they’re constantly doing it up and there’s loads of space and computers in the Library now, makes studying so much more relaxing. The staff are all really helpful, and my tutors were incredible – really interesting intellectuals, down to earth and with plenty of great advice and feedback to offer me.

Everything apart from the academic section is ok. The largest proportion of the rating is due to the increased issue in the university lecturers not abiding by the rules of marking and fairness.
