**Building Surveyors look at building pathology, focusing on refurbishment, reuse, development, restoration, repair, and conservation. As our growing cities adapt to the changing needs of the 21st century, our RICS-accredited BSc (Hons) Building Surveying Accelerated Day Release degree could open up a rewarding future.**
Salford is a leading UK centre for surveying and we're consistently ranked in the World Top 100 universities (QS 2018) for Architecture and Built Environment study. Providing a gateway to professional status, our Building Surveying course will advance your knowledge through a series economic, legal, technical design and management modules. Accredited by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), and developed in consultation with industry, you'll be educated to the highest professional standards.
Through this course, led by international experts, you'll gain a comprehensive knowledge base. You'll learn about the construction industry and its legal and regulatory framework. You'll explore the relationship between a building and its internal and external environments. You'll recognise how to diagnose problems with existing buildings and be aware of conservation and regeneration.
Covering the same content as a standard undergraduate degree, the accelerated degree is taught over three trimesters rather than two semesters. This more intense mode of study means that you can complete your degree in a shorter period of time, so you to progress more quickly into work or further study. If you choose to study Building Surveying as a day-release accelerated degree, you will complete it in three years rather than five. The five year part-time option is also available.
Learning takes place in our Peel Park campus, minutes from buzzing Manchester, a property and construction hotspot recently voted the UK's most liveable city.* Mirroring the collaborative real-world, you'll complete projects and problem-solving activities alongside Salford's other built environment students.

Manchester is a legendary party city, with loads of things to do every night and lots of things catered to students. The facilities at the Uni are amazing, they’re constantly doing it up and there’s loads of space and computers in the Library now, makes studying so much more relaxing. The staff are all really helpful, and my tutors were incredible – really interesting intellectuals, down to earth and with plenty of great advice and feedback to offer me.
This is a great uni in a great area. The staff and students are friendly and welcoming. This uni is especially good for those wanting to study media/film as it is so close to the BBC and ITV studios which is really cool!
