Course Summary:
Chemistry is involved in every part of our day-to-day lives – the medicines we take, the fuels we use, our food and clothing, even how we dispose of our waste. Within this Chemistry degree, we place an emphasis on analytical chemistry and modern aspects of chemical science, to develop your ability to apply the principles of chemistry to your career pathway. Our BSc (Hons) Chemistry course is accredited by the Royal Society of Chemistry for partially meeting the academic criteria for Chartered Chemist (CChem) status. This means that what you learn meets professional requirements and will make you a more attractive candidate to employers. To enhance your skills and career potential, our Chemistry courses provide a depth of practical experience that employers find highly attractive. Our chemistry facilities are on a par with those found in industry. Students make full use of the laboratories during their studies and gain hands-on experience using the extensive chemical equipment. Our Chemistry courses are based at our Glyntaff campus. USW Glyntaff is surrounded by green open spaces. Our students say they love the relaxed atmosphere and beautiful views

I was on the Cardiff campus, and it’s such a lovely city. There’s loads of great clubs, like Clwb Ifor Bach (That’s ‘The Welsh Club) holds loads of different nights, or Full Moon across the road if you fancy seeing some great local bands. There’s also the world’s oldest record shop, Spillers, which is an amazing way to burn through your student loan, as well as some lovely restaurants in the Castle and Morgan Arcades. The course was amazing too, felt very welcome and was able to grow academically thanks to the fantastic teachers.

    excellent, i enjoyed my time there, was very unsure at first. but when i settled in it was great 3 years went so fast!
