BSc (Hons) Mental Health Nursing enables students to gain a professional qualification and an Honours degree. Students will in addition be encouraged to develop the skills of independent learning, critical analysis, leadership, management and decision making. Students develop the knowledge, values, understanding and skills required to care for individuals to enhance recovery from mental illness and promote mental health wellbeing. Mental health nursing means working with individuals within a close professional relationship to help them achieve self care and independence. Applicants should only apply for one hospital site i.e. R, W or P, any further choices will not be considered.
Graduates can progress in to a variety of careers including those in community and hospital settings, education and research. There are numerous opportunities for continued professional development and progression to higher degree study.

The campus is small and really community focused, it’s impossible not to make friends. It’s also all on the waterfront, which is seriously lovely in the summer. Teachers are really passionate about their subjects and encouraged students to share and develop our ideas. The SU is also amazing, loads of great nights on too. University of Suffolk is a really well-kept secret.
