As well as equipping you with the skills and knowledge necessary to proceed to professional legal qualifications as a solicitor or barrister and to engage critically with the key principles of law in core subjects, the programme will give you an awareness of current issues in criminology; from debates surrounding criminal justice, to social control and the role of the police. You will be expected to debate the law, to analyse its application to given situations, and to work with other departments across the University to apply your legal understanding in a national or international context. You will also have the opportunity to study legal areas that are of particular interest to you or your career.

University life in Guildford is really great, the town and campus are warm and inviting, with a nice intimate vibe. Everyone here is so friendly and looks out for everyone else, it’s so refreshing. There's plenty to do it in the city, bear in mind some clubs can charge a fair bit on weekends, so stick to the student nights. The teaching is really strong, with approachable staff, good support on your assignments and a great library.
