**What you will study**
Our unique BSc Veterinary Biosciences course offers specialist training in the biology and research which forms the basis for veterinary science and its associated disciplines.
Our extensive network of partners in clinical practice, industry and research will offer you exceptional learning opportunities, enabling you to explore all aspects of veterinary science, including animal nutrition, veterinary public health and wildlife.
Youâll graduate equipped for a diverse range of careers in the veterinary profession, including biosciences research, diagnostics, vaccine development, animal welfare and nutrition, animal infectious diseases, food safety and veterinary ecology.
The BSc Veterinary Biosciences with foundation has an additional year of study designed to support your transition on to latter years of the course. You will study full-time for one year at foundation level, and after successfully completing it you will be ready to move on to the next three years of the course. The structure of the foundation year will provide you with a mix of subject-specific content in biology, chemistry and mathematics as well as academic skills development, providing you with an excellent grounding for your studies.
This qualification is subject to approval. This means that it has received initial agreement from the University and is currently undergoing a detailed final approval exercise, through the Universityâs quality assurance processes.

University life in Guildford is really great, the town and campus are warm and inviting, with a nice intimate vibe. Everyone here is so friendly and looks out for everyone else, it’s so refreshing. There's plenty to do it in the city, bear in mind some clubs can charge a fair bit on weekends, so stick to the student nights. The teaching is really strong, with approachable staff, good support on your assignments and a great library.
