Qualification type:
  • LLB (Hons), Full-time Including Foundation Year , Duration: 4 Years
Course Summary:
LLB(Hons) Law (with Foundation Year) is a practical contemporary degree, recognised by employers and delivered by leading experts in one of the largest law schools in the country. If you choose a legal career when you graduate, you'll have a solid grounding in law and enough experience from placements and pro bono work to ensure you succeed in your legal training. Research informs teaching at every level and you'll develop core legal knowledge in subjects spanning commercial law, criminal justice, environmental law, human rights and family law. You'll have regular opportunities to practice legal submissions in our modern mock courtrooms, while law simulations allow you to test your case working abilities. Mooting competitions, guest speakers, field trips, Pro Bono work and placements let you explore cases and build your network. This is a Qualifying Law Degree (QLD), which provides you with the core legal knowledge to progress to an LLM in Advanced Legal Practice (LPC LLM) or Bar Professional Training Course (BPTC) to train as a solicitor or barrister. You could start your legal career immediately, or pursue a different career pathway entirely. Law graduates' broad skillset makes them very attractive to employers. Our students have secured roles in law firms, chambers, city councils, banks, estate agents, higher education, accountancy, Citizens Advice and the Crown Prosecution Service.

It's just like Skins… Seriously though, Bristol's got so much on, there's loads of street art, all the independent shops are so cool, and you can cycle everywhere. Everyone is so chilled out and lovely! The first year accommodation was also amazing, so lively and close to campus. Pro-tip = The Frenchay Farmer’s Market is great to pick up cheap fruit and veg. The uni also gave the opportunity to study a year abroad in Grenada, which was seriously the highlight of my degree. And Darth Vader went to school here!

It has been very positive in terms of university itself. The uni is lovely and the staff are so helpful and a lot of my friends had amazing times in halls and living with their friends there.
