Course Summary:
**Why Warwick?** We're a world-leading university with the highest academic and research standards. Today more than 25,000 students thrive across four faculties, which feature over 70 research centres and institutes. We're a constant presence in the rankings of the UK's and the world's greatest universities, and the most targeted institution nationally by the UK's top 100 employers (The Graduate Market in 2017, High Fliers Research Ltd). All of this means you'll be welcomed to a safe, energetic and cosmopolitan campus with flexible, well-equipped study spaces to help you stretch yourself personally, professionally and academically. Whether you want to be a front-runner in a fast-moving graduate job market, or to make a difference and change the world, we want you here. **The course** This course will appeal to those with an interest in the social world, who are looking to build transferable skills and knowledge that can be applied across a diverse range of careers and future study options. There is scope to specialise in areas such as research methods, gender studies, race and global politics, technologies and markets, social and political thought, and social inequalities and public policy. You will be learning from committed teaching staff who are at the forefront of their specialist research areas. Our research-led curriculum emphasises your role in creating your own knowledge as part of a wider academic community. You will become familiar with key social science theories and methods (quantitative and qualitative) and will gain an understanding of their real-world application, alongside skills in independent research, oral and written communication, critical analysis and project management. Core modules are supplemented by a wide variety of optional modules in areas such as sociology of gender, race, health, education, science, animals, policy, media, and consumer culture. There are also opportunities to participate in our annual study trip, and to take a year abroad.

Located within beautiful woodland scenery, Warwick is often described as being 'in a field'. Although this is true (and you'll appreciate the beautiful streams and open space), the campus is a short bus ride from Coventry city so depending on what you fancy you can really get the best of both worlds. The social events are fantastic once you're on-board, and there's plenty to do if getting drunk midweek isn't your thing.
