Course Summary:
This course is for those students with an interest in the brain and the nervous system, and who, through practical classes and research-led teaching, wish to develop a greater understanding of this, the most complex and enigmatic of organs. With the knowledge and practical experience gained on this course you will be able to develop a career in neuroscience and human health, either in academic research, laboratory services, pharmaceutical drug discovery or clinical trials. Instead, you may wish to use the skills you have accumulated to pursue a myriad of other opportunities across many employment sectors that appreciate the value of a solid understanding of scientific principles, methods and approaches. Modules span human brain health and wellbeing, neurophysiology, neuropharmacology, infection, and the biology of molecules and cellular systems including recent advances in psychiatric conditions such as depression and schizophrenia. Other areas covered include CNS conditions such as epilepsy, stroke, Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s diseases, and neuromuscular disorders.
Assessment Methods:
You will be assessed through tutorials, laboratory practicals, oral presentations, written assignments and exam-based questions. Approximately 35% of your marks will be assessed by coursework throughout your degree.

Located within beautiful woodland scenery, Warwick is often described as being 'in a field'. Although this is true (and you'll appreciate the beautiful streams and open space), the campus is a short bus ride from Coventry city so depending on what you fancy you can really get the best of both worlds. The social events are fantastic once you're on-board, and there's plenty to do if getting drunk midweek isn't your thing.

    Considering that Warwick is a top level school for Economics, studying Econs here is expectedly tough. But great support from the staff and friends make a huge difference! Plus I'm quite career oriented, thus having JP Morgan, McKinsey, PwC all targeting Warwick grads means I come out as a competitive hire.
