The University of Manchester‘s Study Abroad group has teamed up with the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) to help Manchester students stay safe overseas.
With almost 1000 students heading off around the world from Stockholm to Singapore, Manchester’s Study Abroad office has a lot of experience in helping students in foreign lands. But their experience pales in comparison to the hundreds of thousands of calls the FCO gets from British nationals overseas seeking assistance.
So when the FCO produced a student-specific travel guide called Plan. Pack. Explore. the Study Abroad team were more than happy to spread the word and distribute it among outgoing students.
This booklet isn’t just telling you to make sure you take enough money and a copy of your passport (though it does say that too), it’s filled with stories from international broadcasters to FCO staff who have spent their lives in some of the world’s most foreign climes. When they tell you to check your insurance details, we’d advise you to go check them!
Wherever your travels might take you, from the snowy slopes to sunny shores, the Plan. Pack. Explore advice is indispensable.
And if you don’t fancy carrying extra paper around , Plan. Pack. Explore. is also available as an app for iPad, iPhone(iOS 5 and above) and Android devices, or you can find the FCO’s travel advice online at www.fco.gov.uk/travel
