Explain why NaBH4 reduces 2-methylbutanal but has no reaction with 2-methylbut-1-ene.
I understand that it would be attracted to the positive C because of the opposite charges but why is the H- ion / nucleophile is repelled by C=Cand why does it only react with electrophiles please?

The c=c double bond has high electron density so it’s repelled by the negativity charged H-. Electrophiles are Positively charged therefore attracted to the high density of electrons in C=C. Hope that makes sense!
