sorry/ As you go across the period the ioinisation energy increases because their is an increase in the atomic number thus the nuclear charge increases and there is no corresponding increasing in the shielding effect. so the outter electrons are held more tightly and more energy is required to remove them.

There is an increase in the atomic mass but Chlorine/Sulphurs outer most electrons are in the P-orbital so there is not much difference in energy.
