Sign of Ecell changes when the direction is reversed?? CONFUSED??

Why only in this example when we reverse the direction of the equation we also reverse the sign of the EMF ????



But in other examples like the one below, when we reverse the direction of the equation we don't reverse the sign of the EMF ?? :s-smilie:

In all cases you reverse the sign of the cell EMF upon reversing the direction of the reaction. EMF reverse = negative EMF forward

Cu2+ + 2e --> Cu was reversed so shouldn't the emf be -0.34?:s-smilie:

Don't reverse the emf. Use the values given always.
