The standard enthalpy of a solution of NH4+CL- (Ammonium chloride) is +15 KJmol-1
A 2 g sample of ammonium chloride is dissolved in 50 g of water. Both substances are initially at 20 degrees celsius. Calculate the temperature change and the final temperature of the solution. Assume that the specific heat capacity of the solution is 4.2 J K-1 g-1
Energy = mass of solution x specific heat capacity of solution x change in temperature
use moles = mass/rmm to find the moles of NH4Cl, multiply by 15000J, divide by (50 x 4.2), thats ur temp change, minus from 20 degs (its an endothermic reaction so temp will drop)
