why does the integral of 1/x^2 from 0 to 1 not converge?

Consider ϵ1dxx2=1ϵ1\displaystyle \int_{\epsilon}^1 \frac{dx}{x^2} = \frac{1}{\epsilon} -1 \to \infty
Reply 2
could you explain that slightly please not seen that e is that an epsilon?

Yeah, doesn't really matter what it is though, just a symbol.

Integrating 1/x^2 over (e,1) = 1/e-1, as e gets small this keeps getting bigger.

isit meant to say (1/e) -1 or 1/(e-1)....?
Reply 5
(1/e) - 1 (as in the LaTeX post).
