Are there any other lab method ways of checking the purity of a liquid apart from boiling point range and calculating the density?

Basically it says, "make clear how you will check the purity of the 1-bromobutane and make sure that you only collect 1-bromobutane"
Well I know i'll only be collecting 1-bromobutane cos I'll collect the distillate in the range of its boiling temperature. But I don't know what it means when it says check the purity. Obviously it can't be too complicated as its only a lab experiment. :confused:
