CompTIA A+ Certification
Is it worth doing this before doing a Computer Science degree? It doesn't look complicated and I was thinking about doing it as it would give me another thing to took about on my personal statement.

It's not a fantastic industry cert (mainly for the reason you gave; it's not that hard), but it does separate those who have it from those who don't. It's worthwhile having, if you have the time and money then go for it - if nothing else it should look pretty good on your CV for when you apply for your placement.
