Magnitude of acceleration.

If the magnitude of velocity is speed and the magnitude of displacement is distance, what's the magnitude of acceleration.
I.e, what's the scalar quantity with unit

ms^2

. And if there is or even if there isn't a set name would it mean change in speed over time?

The magnitude of acceleration is acceleration.
I.e in the example where

a=3i+4jms^2

and you work out

|a|

to be

5ms^2

you're saying it's still acceleration?
