Help pls? CH3CH2CH2CH2CH2COCH(CH3)2

Hello,
I understand how to do these without brackets but as soon as there are brackets in it I just don't understand. Could someone please kindly explain?

The problem is CH3CH2CH2CH2CH2COCH(CH3)2.
It has CO so its a ketone, and I count 7 Cs not including the brackets so its heptanone. My guess is 7-methyl-6-heptanone if I count from the left or methyl-2-heptanone counting from the right but both are completely wrong. Please help?:s-smilie:

CH3-CH2-CH2-CH2-CH2-CO-CH-CH3
----------------------------------------CH3

The longest chain is 8
octa-3-one

2- methyl octan-3-one

You count from the side that creates the smallest numbers if i remember right, i havent done this in a while and im not in university yet so i could be wrong

If unsure i'd draw it out, the brackets and the number after them just show how many of the group in the brackets are bonding to the previous group.
