Say you measure to the nearest 1mm (the precision of your instrument)
And you have two readings, for example 100 and 99. Your range is 1 so your uncertainty is 0.5x1=0.5mm. But this is better than your least step/precision? Should I round it up to 1mm? AQA says only use the precision (1mm) if you have a range of zero

use the largest uncertainty so +or- 1mm as 0.5mm wouldnt be able to be measured on the instruments, use the largest uncertainty basically :smile:
