Hi,

Hope you are all well please could anyone:confused: assist me in this question on fourier.

It is not my strong point at all.

the question is f(t) =
1+t/4 -4<t<0
1-t/4 0<t<4
the period is 8
I need to plot a graph of the signal and determine the first 4 terms.

please could you give me some guidance n this as i am looking at examples on line but i still cant get round it.

Many Thanks

Hi TeeEm

Thank you I will try and see if I can get anywhere with the link you provided me.

Fourier is the only one I seem to struggle with.

I haven't looked at all of your working but I have spotted a couple of things on the first page.

Where you have 1/8 in line three should this be 1/4? i.e. 1/L rather than 1/2L. Edit: You have a0a_0 correct however. This might just be a difference in notation, it depends whether or not you divide by 2 later.

Also it is not necessary to carry out the integration of f(t). This is simply the area of a triangle.

I've added an answer (without working) here.

Hi,

I have got A0 to equal 1/2 or 0.5
